Thank goodness, I've been waiting for 4.5 years for this! Go America!

What things do you hope to see done by the Obama Administration?

A few things on my wish-list:

• Closure of Guantanamo - that place is a human rights nightmare
• Removal of "Don't ask don't tell" policy in the military. It is a ridiculous policy in my opinion.
• Steps made towards a national healthcare policy - unlikely to be done for a long time obviously, but we'll see
• Improvement of US image abroad, which would be handy if I end up doing the Peace Corps
• Better foreign aid policies

Just got all of my grades in...not bad if I do say so myself:

Semester GPA: 3.65

It was a tough semester so I am pleased, maybe I will get into medical school after all!

I randomly decided to take Yoga, so we will see how that goes. I haven't registered for Medical Anthropology yet because the damned professor who was supposed to give me consent to take it forgot or something. I'd better get in because I really want to take it.

woo senior year...

So as some of you might recall, I had cancer as a child that is all gone now. I learned tonight from my parents that at some point Dr. Jayant Patel took a central line out of me as part of my treatment. I remember the incident vividly as I was awake and kicking and screaming at the time. This is significant because apparently this doctor was sued a bunch of times in the US for malpractice and was charged with killing three patients in Australia due to negligence. He was just arrested on like March 10th.

Cool huh?! I guess I am lucky he didn't mess anything up on me though.

I just ran a 5k for a fundraiser. I know it's not much for a lot of you, but I went at a pretty good pace and didn't stop at all. It felt good! I think I might try running more.

I just got a webcam, who uses Skype?

It was a good Christmas! Mostly I got giftcards and money, but the coolest thing I got was this really easy to use drip coffee maker that just makes a thermos of coffee in about a minute. It has a programmable thingy so hopefully I can use that on mornings when I have an 8am lab. They also gave me a bag of good fair trade coffee.

With the gift cards I plan on buying an external hard drive, and a new wireless mouse.
